DAY 1: OLD SAN JUAN / ARECIBO
Arrive in San Juan and meet your local staff. Tour Old San Juan, one of the New World’s oldest living cities. Explore World UNESCO Heritage outdoor sites. Learn about cool legends, residents’ traditions, and a ghost story or two on our unique walking tour. Head to the northwestern side of the island.
DAY 2: UTUADO
Drive through our central mountains and karst country to the heart of Río Tanamá in Caguana. Enjoy hiking, spelunking, and zip-lining as well as a visit to a self-sustainable organic farm. Learn about Taíno markings, visit a bat-filled cave, and have a “medianoche” or a “pernil” sandwich at a “panadería.” Head to the town of Lajas in southwestern Puerto Rico.
DAY 3: CABO ROJO/ LA PARGUERA
Visit Cabo Rojo’s “Centro Interpretativo de las Salinas.” Learn about salt-flats as you hike near the region’s dry coastal forest. Explore Los Morrillos Lighthouse and enjoy breathtaking cliffs. Refresh at iconic “Playa Sucia.” After lunch, head to the fishing village of La Parguera. Board a private boat for a guided tour of La Parguera’s mangrove cays; interact with a local fisherman in our unique sea creatures’ demonstration. After sunset, swim at night with dinoflagellates and experience the unique glowing effect of our bioluminescent bay.
DAY 4: SAN JUAN
After breakfast, tour a locally owned and sustainable pineapple or a coffee plantation on your way to San Juan. Participate in a digital scavenger hunt at a farmers’ market and try fresh tropical fruits as you interact with vendors. After an authentic lunch, participate in an outdoor people to people service-learning project in the afternoon with dinner at or near the service location. Head to Fajardo for the night.

DAY 5: EL YUNQUE
Discover El Yunque, the U.S.’ only tropical rainforest, on a private open air eco-tour. Activities include sightseeing, guided walks, hikes, and optional swimming under waterfalls. Have a traditional rainforest lunch at an authentic restaurant. Relax at pristine Luquillo beach. In the evening, enjoy a farewell outdoor dinner then head to your hotel in Fajardo for group reflection, and an optional game of “dominós.”
DAY 6: FAJARDO
Board a private deluxe catamaran and embark on a journey to “Reserva Natural Arrecifes de la Cordillera” or to the Caribbean’s best kept secret: Culebra island. Visit a beach at a secluded island. Enjoy outdoor sports in the afternoon and dinner at our local resort’s tropical gardens.
DAY 7: OLD SAN JUAN
Spend your last day in San Juan as we travel to Santurce’s La Placita, home of the island’s best smoothies. Go deep into Calle Serra as we learn about the world-famous murals and street graffiti. If time permits, enjoy an “Afro-Caribbean” lunch at Piñones. Sample unique Puerto Rican snacks such as “alcapurrias,” “bacalaítos,” and “pinchos” before you head home.
